AES Ohio recently announced a system-wide upgrade that will getting underway within the next few days. As part of this “modernization” of so-called 25-year old technology, AES Ohio will be assigning each customer a new Choice Service ID (as well as a new account number).
When will I get a new Choice Service ID?
AES Ohio customers will see their new Choice Service ID on their newly re-designed billing statements on or after September 4, 2024.
How do I find my Choice Service ID?
You can find your Choice Service ID toward the top left of your new billing statement:

You will also be able to locate it in your MyAES Ohio online portal.
When will these updates and changes begin?
AES Ohio will begin rolling out their system-wide update on August 28th. Unfortunately, MyAES Ohio and bill payment options will be unavailable starting at this time. AES Ohio is recommending that customers pay their electric bills on or before August 27, 2024.
What other services and functionality will be impacted?
Enrollment in budget billing and payment arrangements/agreements will be temporarily unavailable starting on August 28th. Start, stop, and transfer services will be unavailable September 2nd – 4th.
When will these services and MyAES functionality be restored?
Wednesday, September 4th
